History

Mar. 1965 A part of the Olympic Village site was decided to be used as the Olympics Memorial Youth Center.
Apr. 1965 The Olympics Memorial Youth Center was established as a semi-governmental corporation under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports, and Culture.
Jan. 1966 The Center started to accept users.
May. 1980 The Center became a government insititure of the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports, and Culture.
Dec. 1988 The Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture established the "Basic plan for the overall improvement of NYC's facilities".
Jul. 1991 Based on the plan, the improvement work of all facilities started.
Apr. 1994 The NYC started the acceptance of users into accommodation facilities(Building A and B).
Feb. 1995 The NYC started the acceptance of users into accommodation facilities (Building C and D) as well as into International Exchange Building.
May. 1998 The NYC started acceptance of users into the Central Building.
Oct. 1998 The NYC started acceptance of users into the Athletic Building.
Apr. 2001 The Center became an independent administrative institution under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, Culture , Sports, Science and Technology.
Sep. 2001 The NYC started the acceptance of users into the Arts Building.
